Bergen Enthusiast Choir from Norway will give 2 concerts in Latvia together with the Latvian saxophone quartet n[ex]t move performing music by Norwegian composers, Norwegian and Latvian folk songs, as well as jazz music.


7 June, at 18.00 – concert at the Riga Latvian Society House, Merķeļa iela 13, Rīga

8 June, at 16.00 – concert at the Tērvete National Park, Tērvete Nature Park, “Tērvetes sils”, Tērvete Municipality

The concert at the Riga Latvian Society House is titled “Meeting in Music” where Norwegian and Latvian performers will meet: Bergen Enthusiast Choir with conductor Tiri Bergesen Schei (Norway), Ieva Vēvere vocal, Māris Vitkus piano, saxophone quartet n[ex]t move with leader Inga Meijere.

Bergen Enthusiast Choir was established in 2003 by singer, vocal teacher, researcher, professor and conductor Tiri Bergesen Schei. The choir describes its repertoire as all times best rhythmic music, including madrigals, jazz standards, musicals, The Beatles and Scandinavian folk music.

Conductor Tiri Bergesen Schei is a professor at Bergen University Colege which has a close cooperation with Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy (RTTEMA) where leader of the saxophone quartet n[ex]t move Inga Meijere has her doctor studies. Thus, the cooperation between the two educational institutions has resulted in musical cooperation between Norway and Latvia.
